Imaging

Kenmore Clinics uses DermEngine for clinical imaging and management.  DermEngine is an encrypted, cloud-based dermatology platform that complies with RACGP standards and the Australian Privacy Principles that regulate the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, including images.

Clinical images may be taken as part of your medical care to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of skin cancer.  These images are managed using DermEngine.

Your Images may be used for:

  • Clinical care – to support diagnosis, treatment and continuity of care
  • Referrals – shared with other healthcare providers involved in your care
  • Education & training – in a de-identified form, images may be used for staff training
  • Quality assurance or research – in a de-idenified form where permitted

Images will be accessible only by authorised clinical staff.  If used beyond direct care, images will be de-identified and shared only with consent for educational or quality improvement purposes.

Images will be securely stored in DermEngine, compliant with Australian privacy laws.  Images taken for clinical care will be linked to your patient record and documented with the date, time and clinician identity.

You have the right to refuse to have images taken or used, withdraw consent at any time without affecting your care and review or change your consent preferences.

Images taken form part of your official medical record and are treated with the same level of confidentiality and security as other health information.
