Patient Information

Everything you need to know ahead of your appointment

We use an appointment system and we recognise our patients are busy and don’t want to wait longer than they have to. So, we make every effort to minimise waiting times.

There are two different ways to book your appointment. Call our reception staff during business hours or utilise our mobile online appointment system via HotDoc (available on iPhone and Android).

We make every effort to remind patients of future appointments via SMS messaging. If you do not wish to receive SMS appointment reminders please let our reception staff know.

Please note booking, changing or cancelling of appointments will not be accessible via email.

The following requests will not be accessible via email

  • Pathology and imaging reports
  • Booking, changing or cancelling appointments
  • Requesting prescriptions, referrals or other documents from one of our GP’s (unless it has been discussed during an appointment with a GP)

A standard consultation is 15 minutes and is for a simple or routine problem.  When you make an appointment, it is helpful if you can describe the reasons for your visit. If you think you need a full check-up, mental health consultation, drivers licence, have a complex problem or require a procedure, you may need a longer consultation.

While our clinic is open 7 days a week, our doctors consult on different days. Whilst we encourage continuity of care, please realise that your regular doctor may not be available each day. Rest assured your medical records are accessible by all of our doctors to ensure you receive the best care and follow-up possible.

Emergency and seriously ill patients are given priority in our clinic and as we work to accommodate them, there can be an occasional delay in appointment times.

We thank you for your patience during these times.  Our reception staff may ask you if you are happy to see an alternative doctor if an excessive delay is anticipated.

For emergencies outside normal opening hours, a doctor from this practice may be contacted by phoning the surgery number — (07) 3363 1600.  Unfortunately, we cannot provide this service for patients that do not normally attend this practice. Please note this service may attract a private fee.

Patients with limited English skills may have a family member or friend act as an interpreter during the consultation, however if this is not possible interpreter services are available on request

Your medical information is completely confidential.  We maintain the security of your personal health information at all times and ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

We abide by the National Privacy Guidelines.

If you require a copy or any part of your medical records, it is the policy of this Practice that an appointment to see your regular doctor is required.

We routinely send SMS texts for appointments or routine health reminders — you can opt out of this service at any time.  We use HotDoc for our text reminders — HotDoc takes patient data privacy very seriously and have issued a patient privacy statement which you can read: HotDoc Privacy Statement.
